Blue Spaces
noun:
Any natural water body, such as oceans, lakes, rivers and even smaller bodies of water like ponds or fountains.
Remember the younger you, the you that felt passionate and inspired to live a life of purpose? In this busy, fast-moving world itβs no wonder that youβre feeling overwhelmed or lacking in confidence and have lost that connection to that part of yourself. Know you want to make a change, but youβre not sure where to start? Weβre here to help.
Weβre here to guide you to make those changes to rediscover the confident, empowered you, that leads with certainty and knows what she wants and where she is headed. You can live a more fulfilled life that is aligned with your passions. We at Blue Spaces offer the space and connection you need to take the next steps.
We believe that we are shaped by what we do, where we spend our time and who we spend that time with. We believe in the power of Blue Spaces, in community and connection with like minded women.
Imagine you could bottle that feeling of just getting out of sea. When your whole body feels alive, refreshed, invigorated and revitalised. Close your eyes and connect to this part of you. Allow her to guide you back to that person thatβs connected to her purpose and ready to confidently plunge into change.
Our offerings are consciously created to do just that.
Our Story
How a love of the sea & saunas shaped a friendship and sparked an idea
Blue Spaces has been slowly percolating and forming in the minds of Nikita and Laura over the years, much like their love for cold plunges and wild spaces.
Laura and Nikita initially met on a retreat. They both had a desire to live life a little differently and share the exhilaration and headspace that came from a weekend of wild swims, yoga and connection a retreat affords. They realised the value retreat spaces offered women in finding headspace to redefine their approach to work and life so they joined forces.
Lessons were learned in the sweat and laughter of hosting retreats and the biggest one was how transformative these spaces were for busy working women. Seeing how women gain confidence and trust in themselves, creating a fast forward effect to grow and change within a supportive setting.
They realised that their passion lay in helping women achieve their full potential through creating a space for them to have time for themselves, new experiences, community, coaching/therapeutic sessions, cold/heat immersion, time in nature and movement.
Blue Spaces is a manifestation of the love of that simple feeling of coming out of a body of water, the way your whole sensory perspective seems to shift.
There is a therapeutic process that happens when you are in the sea and around the sea. Itβs supportive, scary, vast, has the ability to change landscapes, and gives us freedom. We believe that retreats can be a way to enter this βblue spaceβ , a way to clear the debris for creativity to tap into this blue space within you.

βAfter spending over a decade working in the corporate and tech world with the hustle and bustle of city living, I packed up my life in London and headed for the sea. Running a business, travelling regularly, and managing an ambitious team sounded like my dream role, but I had slowly lost my sense of creativity, purpose and connection. Daily lunchtime yoga classes were my sanctuary, but it wasnβt enough! I felt stuck, trapped and burnt out. I knew I had to make a change. I felt a need to swap the city for space and freedom to breathe. Let my shoulders drop.
That change was a huge leap into the unknown, but I trusted the process that I was where I needed to be at that time. I started swimming in the sea every morning. It became a routine, part of my life and now a part of me. I donβt feel like Iβve started my day properly until Iβm bobbing around in the sea, looking back at the shore, resetting my lens on the day before breakfast. It was the shift I needed to realign with my values, and find me purpose againβ.

βMy working life has always been about following my passions in order to lead a life that feels purposeful for me. This has led me down so many paths and Iβve been a wearer of many hats. Over the pandemic I embraced a long held goal of becoming a psychotherapist and took the plunge into change.β
βI chose Scotland as my home because I value the closeness to nature and the wild and rugged landscapes. In the pandemic I took up surfing and the cold unrelenting north sea taught me many lessons in perseverance, embracing change, feeling the fear and doing the thing anyway - lessons that without a doubt ebbed into my working life.β
